Connect 1000 Churches: What if it succeeds?

They have the ability to create and build a vision from practically nothing.

They have the energy to initiate and build rather than just watch and analyze.

They bring teams together to complement their own skills and talents.

They see opportunity where others see chaos, conflict, and confusion.

They know how to find, marshal, and control resources.

They have a willingness to take calculated risks – both personal and financial – and then to do everything possible to reduce the chances of failure.

They are entrepreneurs.

With the idea of getting every single person on the planet connected to the internet by February 3, 2018 gaining momentum  (The 550 Challenge), it is no wonder that entrepreneurial pastors and evangelists are turning to streaming media for spreading the gospel.

Crusade America

For much of his ministry, evangelist Greg Laurie has leveraged new technologies and approaches. He’s embarking on a new entrepreneurial quest, announcing plans for “Crusade America, a one-day, one-church, one-message event across America.

Crusade America will be a coordinated event using the newest cutting-edge media to connect “1,000 churches” in a massive, coast-to-coast revival.

Over the past 22 years, Greg’s “Harvest Crusade” has reached more than 4 million people worldwide with 400,000 responding to the Gospel. The new strategy is to reach an ever-increasing number of people over the next three years by live-streaming the closing night of the Anaheim crusade.

The first live-streaming crusade on Aug. 26 is expected to include 1,000 churches of all sizes. Any local church pastor in any city can be part of the big event. Information about being a host church is available at www.harvestamerica.com. A free comprehensive local crusade plan is also available to help church planners create an event in their community.

When Greg invites new believers at Anaheim stadium to come forward for prayer, local pastors will invite their audience to come forward at the very same moment.

We are believing God for a nationwide revival,” says Laurie.

Addressing the challenges of organizing a nationwide event, Laurie said many have asked him, “‘What if we fail?’ He answers them, “What if we succeed?”

Spoken like a true entrepreneur.

What’s your burden?

The Lord told Ananias “Go! I’ve chosen this man to bring my name to nations, to kings, and to the people of Israel. Acts 9:15

Has God given you a burden to do something for the gospel? There is much at stake in reaching the world in this age. This is a time for taking risks.

I believe many entrepreneurial Christians using media for outreach have a burning in their hearts. They feel prompted to hunt for opportunities to leverage technology to tell people about Jesus in their churches, in their towns, and in the world.

They know God probably isn’t going to lay everything out in nice neat rows. They just know that He wants them to obey.

One entrepreneurial leader said, “we pray that the Spirit – who does the work of God among the people of God through the Word of God – would make our efforts to find and seize opportunities effective.”

Like Greg Laurie, Christian entrepreneurs would rather try something and fail than never try at all. And “What if it succeeds?” That one consuming thought is what gets them so excited, they can’t wait to get out of bed in the morning.
