Eight Reasons to be Thankful for Christian Internet Broadcasting

In this space, we strive to be a resource for Christian organizations using the Internet as a media platform for doing full-time, gospel-focused ministry and business.

The Internet is still relatively new as a broadcast medium, and many companies and churches have yet to find the sweet spot for innovative outreach and effective monetization.

But there are many ministries and broadcasters that are showing great returns on ministry investments in both internal and external products and practices.

For sure, when it comes to Christian Internet broadcasting, there is much to be thankful for.

Advent is a good time to reflect on the reasons to be grateful for the resources to tell others about Jesus.

Here is our list of eight.

    1. As we’ve heard from a number of leaders, we are the first generation in all of human history to hold within our hands the technology to share the gospel with every man, woman and child on the earth. This compelling opportunity and challenge is prompting entrepreneurial efforts to tap into the medium’s undeniable power for connecting people to Christ anytime, anywhere, in no time flat.

    1. The stunning rate of technological change makes it nearly impossible for organizations to keep up with the innovations in a systematic and efficient way. Cross-enterprise collaboration and forming strategic alliances is gaining momentum as organizations draw on the power of cooperation to open up to each other and share ideas, processes and market strategies.

    1. Internet broadcasting coupled with social media provides for an ongoing focus group. Organizations are using two-way communication platforms to get closer to seekers and believers and thus what each group wants and needs. Savvy organizations are taking this data and feeding it into product development, ministry, marketing and other departments.

    1. It provides an effective and often more efficient way to put “free” resources into the hands of those who need them most.

    1. While there is still much experimentation going on in the area of ROI, technology vendors are offering increasingly sophisticated products and services for measuring the value of digital media initiatives in concrete terms.

    1. With that said, as with any ministry or business initiative, success in the digital age depends on equipping leaders with the relevant tools, trends and tactics to thrive tomorrow. We’re thankful that there are Christian leadership organizations and institutions focused on administering such programs.

    1. Internet broadcasting is helping organizations think in new ways outside its four walls, with many enterprises looking to extend their digital networks and channels to business and ministry partners and even the audience.

  1. It is opening up opportunities for media and technology departments, for digital workers and mentoring — especially for those who see business and ministry working hand-in-hand in new ways to communicate the gospel.

It is encouraging to see so many more using Internet broadcasting to tell the story of God’s love with a clear gospel message.

But these are broadcast “so you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God.” John 20:31

Our best wishes for a very happy and meaningful Advent season.
