Social media allows us to have meaningful interaction with all sorts of interesting people, many of which we may never meet in real life.

Being able to form online relationships around my work in media and technology has been a genuine benefit of the new networks.

But nothing prepares you for the quality of relationships that can be built with seeking souls reaching out to connect through internet evangelism portals.

Just today, one of my new online friends in Holland emailed to check in on me.

She wrote to thank me for writing and to offer encouraging words.

So beautifully, she spoke of the freedom, joy, happiness and blessing that God brings into our lives.

“In every step you take or every thing you do He is there with you, to pick you up and and to give the strength you need to move ahead.”

How did she know that’s what I needed to hear today?

She continued. “It’s all true, nobody can get something before his time, or later. He will get it exactly on God’s time. So I have no disappointments anymore. When you receive it at the time that God wants you to receive, it will be a whole package! This reminds me somehow of the delivery of a baby. It takes nine months to enter this world. If a baby comes out in four or five months it will be not complete. He may have a handicap. But if it is on the right time, as it should be, it will be a healthy baby.

“All we have to do is to stay with God, and everything will be great,” she proclaimed. Indeed, my new friend. Indeed!

At the conclusion of her note she asked, “How did you get to God.” What an awesome privilege and opportunity to put the focus on Christ and to be reminded of his supremacy over every soul, even online.

Last days plan

My soul faints with longing for your salvation, but I have put my hope in your word.

Internet evangelism is truly a part of God’s plan for these last days.

The online world is populated by millions and millions of seeking souls like my friend in Holland. Those who have never heard about Jesus. Others who understand that Jesus is their Savior and want more of Him.

And still others the Lord will inspire to bring YOU encouragement and strengthening, sometimes when you least expect it. Online ministry is genuinely two-way ministry.

We are the first generation – ever – to hold in our hands the technology to give every person on the planet multiple chances to accept Jesus and to follow Him completely.
